Still really need some improvements with the messages

The new updates are really great. A few features that would still be very helpful to have. With the added, side panel in the messages, there still isn’t a great way to easily access the app content associated with each project. Ideally instead of having to click into a profile and sort through all of the tabs, there would be an easy way to see which apps are connected with content. One of the annoying things right now is having to sort through all of the apps that arent even applicable to the respective client. Understand having it in the profile, but there needs to be a better way to navigate this in the messages without unused apps showing

There is still a desperate need for some sort of tagging feature within the messages. I really need to be able to
”assign” messages to team members while still allowing project leads to see all of the message. For example if John is a Team Lead, he should be able to easily see which projects members Jim and Mary are responsible for. There’s really no good way to show this kind of responsibility right now. Additionally theres still a huge need to “favorite” “save” etc messages that need revisiting. It’s a pretty crucial thing that I need to scale my business if I’m going to continue using Assembly.

Also it’s still not great that it automatically opens the first chat when clicking the message tab. It makes it very difficult to understand if recent messages should be responded to or not.

Hi Garrett! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this up — this is exactly the kind of detailed feedback that helps us prioritize.

We’ve noted all three requests:

  1. Surfacing relevant app content in messages — totally hear you on the friction of clicking into a profile and sorting through apps that aren’t even connected to that client. We agree there needs to be a faster path here.

  2. Message tagging / assignment — understood on the need for team leads to assign and track ownership across threads. The favorite/save ask makes a lot of sense too.

  3. Auto-opening the first chat — noted. Quick workaround for now: you can right-click on a message channel and mark it as unread to flag it for revisiting. Understand it’s not ideal, but we’ll be improving this.

These are all on our radar. Can’t commit to specific timelines yet, but wanted you to know this isn’t falling on deaf ears. We’ll keep the community posted as things progress.

Thanks again for the feedback. Glad to hear the recent updates have been a step in the right direction!
