I know this has been on the roadmap but it’s sort of put us in a standstill now. Wondering if/when we can expect an update that allows us to control what our internal team sees? Right now, we would like to bring in our whole team to work on projects but it’s unrealistic as an agency to allow them to see all of our contracts, billing, etc with all our clients. So, right now, we continue to use this as a beta test. Without that ability, we can’t add any team members, so we aren’t bringing any clients into it either. It’s definitely a wall for us. Any expectations or workarounds?
Also, this may have been addressed, but any plan to allow clients to add a task? We have built a system that allows clients to request projects. Currently, we would have to have them fill a form and then create a tasks from that which is a bit clunky. We just end up copying and pasting their answers into it. Thanks!!

Hi @Brandan_Baki , Thank you for reaching out!
We plan to release a custom roles for internal users feature in Q1 of next year. We understand how valuable this is and appreciate your feedback. If you have any input on how you would like the feature to work or which specific roles you need, please feel free to share so we can keep this in mind as we build it.
We also plan to allow clients to create tasks, although we do not have an ETA for that yet. You mentioned using forms and then creating tasks from that information. Are you creating the tasks manually, or do you already have this automated? You can automate this using Zapier or Make. If you would like instructions, we are happy to send them over.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am always here to help!

Thank you for the follow up. Really exciting! Quickly, for the tasks, we are doing things manually. I would love to have the instructions to automate that. It would help a ton!
For the custom roles, I would love if it was just setup by app. If I could just toggle my internal users to be able to see certain apps, that would be awesome. It could even be “global” for them. So regardless of what clients they can see, they will never have a “billing” app viewable. That’s typically how we would work. If my internal team can access client’s messaging, they would likely be fine to access all clients messaging. And then setting up which clients they can see and not see is helpful (and I know we already have that).
As for which apps, the big ones for us would be to toggle off billing and contracts. As for others, I’m sure they would want more options for different use cases. Possibly in the future, we could have someone we want to only access billing, etc. Ideally, it could be as easy as turning the apps on/off for each of our internal users that aren’t admins.
Happy to answer any questions about it if you have any! Thanks for always listening to us!

I really need this for my agency as well. We started using Assembly this year and I assumed this was an obvious feature to have. Any exact timeline expectations on this? I would like to stick with Assembly, but it is unfortunately a must have.
Hi @Garrett_Leonard Thank you for reaching out!
This is something we’re actively planning, and we recognize how valuable it will be for managing internal access. Custom roles for internal users are currently scheduled for a late Q1 or early Q2 release.
If you have specific role requirements or ideas around how you’d like this to function, feel free to share. We’re happy to factor that feedback into the build as we move forward!
