Modifications in the Tasks App

A few things that would be very helpful here:

  • Ability to name stages differently from To Do, In Progress, Done

  • Ability to add/remove number of stages

  • Ability to assign clients and internal team members to the same tasks

  • Ability to restrict clients from viewing it from a list/board view

  • Ability to allow for clients to add tasks

  • Ability to send “mass tasks” to multiple or all clients

  • Ability to name stages differently from To Do, In Progress, Done

    • We have heard this before! I’m adding you as a +1 to this as a feature request!

  • Ability to assign clients and internal team members to the same tasks

    • Currently, most people will follow the following flow: create a parent task with an assignee: Internal User A and then they will add in Client Visibility so that the client can view / see status of the task. You can have the parent task assigned to an internal user and then assign a subtask to a client as well.
  • Ability to restrict clients from viewing it from a list/board view

    • Interesting feedback! I’ve filed a feature request on your behalf here.
  • Ability to allow for clients to add tasks

    • We have heard this before as well. We’ve seen a lot of companies create a Form, using our Forms App and then through our API, you can setup an automation in Zapier or Make that will create a Task from the Form submission.
  • Ability to send “mass tasks” to multiple or all clients

    • Another great feature request! I’m curious what the trigger is for the Task to be created/sent. You can setup an Assembly automation that will assign a Task based off of different triggers like: client logged in for the first time, client updated (tag added or removed for example) or form submitted etc. If you are looking to simply freely assign a task to many users at once, I can file a feature request for that as well!

Would love to add my +1 to the ability to send mass tasks to clients - preferably by group rather than company.

Related: ability to assign tasks to a company, but the tasks repeat for each person in the company and are not collaboratively completed

Extra credit: scheduling feature for tasks, so I can set up task lists and then blast out when I’m ready to launch

I have a couple follow up questions to make sure I understand your use case:

  1. What do you mean by “group rather than company”? Are these groupings of clients via custom fields?
  2. For repeating tasks for each person in the company, would you want to assign tasks to all clients within all companies in this case? Or only a portion of clients within the company?

Finally - we’re working on the ability to schedule task creation via our Automations app, aiming to have it done by end of quarter!

  1. Yes, custom fields - for us, they are called “Groups” and we use tags.

  2. Flexibility within the company would be nice - but sending all clients within a company the same task set would be fine, especially if we could further refine the groups using the custom fields :slight_smile:
