I set up a Zap where a client completes a Jotform (outside of Assembly), which automatically creates their assembly account and sends the activation invite, adds their appropriate tags based on that form etc. All of that works perfectly.
I would like to be able to assign the client to a staff user automatically if a specific tag is added to the client. In Zapier there is a find internal user step but I don’t know where to find the internal user ID.
The reason is we have a subadvisor company that is using the portal with a staff internal user seat. They and we dont want our clients to be seen by them, however we as the parent advisor company, do need to see their clients. Is there any way to make this automatic with an internal automation or a zap? Thanks!
Hi @Jonathan_Furest Thank you for reaching out!
At the moment, client access for internal users cannot be updated through the API. I understand the need for this functionality, and I have shared this as a feature request with our product team.
Regarding finding an internal user, the best option is to use the “List internal users” step. In Zapier, this is only available as a trigger, but in Make, it is available as an action. Once you list all internal users, you can apply a filter to locate the correct user by name or email.
We also recognize that having the ability to retrieve an internal user directly by email or name would be very helpful. I have shared this request with our product team as well.
If you have any other questions or need help with your setup, please let me know. I am always here to help!
