'# Create channel' error - option does not allow my to add multiple clients?

Hi!

In the Files App you have two options:

First, you can create a shared channel where everyone knows of each others presence. If you select this option all clients you include in the channel must be part of the same company. Think of this is a safety check – we want to make sure you don’t accidentally upload files in a shared environment that are confidential.

Second, you can mass file share. With this option you are sharing the same files/folder to many clients/companies but no new channel is created and the clients don’t find out about each other.

Hi Marlon, thanks for your reply.

I’ve just subscribed to the platform. All users are internal, however I still can’t invite users. It limits me to selecting one user.

The reason you are unable to create a message channel with these two clients is because they are not in the same company. Only clients in the same company can be in a group channel. Also, it appears you do not have companies enabled. To enable companies, go to Settings > General and toggle on the
Enable companies setting.

Hello @Veronique_Cadet - thanks for the info here. Reopening this thread since I’m wondering if it could be possible to create a channel with multiple clients on it so we can all interact directly?

Ideally would like to have multiple separate clients on a single channel in messages if possible, even if that means enabling this somehow?

Clients can only be in the same message or file channel if they are in the same company.

If they are in the same company, you can create a Company channel or create a group channel. A group channel is a channel with two or more clients from the same company.
