Feature request: Editable forms - External Users

Hi, it would be great if clients could return to forms to edit them after submitting.

Thank you Allie for the feature request!

I’d love to learn a bit more about your use case. What types of forms do you want your clients to edit? What sort of information would they change after the initial submission?

Thanks @adam In my case, I am gathering physical product production information from my client in order to move forward with a printed packaging design deliverable. Although she’ll be confirming bits and pieces over a few days or weeks, it’s helpful for me to see what she can currently confirm as she has it. For example, confirming the delivery date of her samples to the warehouse can help me confirm package production timing with the printer. Does that help? Is there a better tool I’m missing to account for this in Copilot? I am exploring Tasks but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of functionality in terms of collecting info within individual tasks. Would love to hear your recommendations. I have been trying out Copilot for a few weeks now & he main product I’m comparing it to at the moment is FIllout (https://fillout.com/) which is working to launch their Portal functionality.

I see, thanks for sharing!

For your packaging design workflow, I’d recommend using the Tasks App with comments and replies. The comment section supports threaded conversations, which would be helpful for organizing different pieces of information.

You could create a main task for each packaging project, then clients can use the threaded comments feature to:

  • Start separate threads for each information type (delivery dates, specifications, etc.)
  • Leverage subtasks to separate subcomponents of a project and communicate progress
  • Add attachments or images
  • Keep conversations organized by topic
  • Update information as it becomes available by editing a comment

One question: Would your clients ideally initiate this process themselves (creating tasks/requests when they have new information), or would you always be the one creating tasks for them to update?
