Customize CRM App Tabs for Internal Users

We’re looking for the ability to customize which apps appear as tabs within the CRM contact view for internal users, independent of client-facing visibility.

Currently, any app enabled for the client portal also appears as a tab in the CRM view, which creates a cluttered experience for internal team members.

Ideally, we’d like to:

  • Keep all apps enabled and accessible in the client portal

  • Maintain full functionality across all tools

  • But selectively show or hide specific apps from the CRM tab navigation to create a cleaner internal interface

This would allow us to prioritize only the most relevant tools (e.g., Messages, Agreements) within the CRM view, while still keeping other apps available in the sidebar and client portal.

Is this already possible and I’m just missing something?

Hi @Staffify_Team Thanks for reaching out!

If you’re looking to keep your internal sidebar clean, you can hide any app or folder from it without affecting what your clients see. To do this, go to the App Library, click the menu button () next to the app or folder, and select Hide from internal sidebar.

You can also organize your sidebar using folders. If you have many apps, especially embeds, grouping them into folders can help keep things structured. Folders will appear in both the internal sidebar and the client portal, but you also have the option to hide folders from the internal sidebar if you prefer.

This approach allows you to keep all apps available for clients while creating a more streamlined experience for your internal team. More information about organizing your apps can be found in our Assembly guide here.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I’m always happy to help!

Hi @Veronique_Cadet,

This isn’t in regards to the sidebar. It’s in regards to the tabs that show when a client is selected in the CRM view (Pictured).

That is the area that looks cluttered. We’ve embedded multiple apps to improve the client experience, but when the internal team is looking at a client inside the CRM view, those apps all show there as well and while some are useful, some are unnecessary.

The ability to show/hide those, only within the CRM view, not on the sidebar, would be a valuable function.

Hi @Staffify_Team Thank you for your response!

Any app that is hidden from the internal sidebar will also be hidden in the Client Details and Company pages, which is the view shown in your image.

To clarify, are you looking to hide apps from the CRM view (Client Details and Company pages) while still keeping them visible in the sidebar? If so, that’s not currently possible.

That said, I’ll be sure to share this as a feature request with our product team.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

@Veronique_Cadet Sounds good! Thank you for the info.

I’m hesitant to hide it from the view on the internal sidebar just so myself and my team can reference those in order to point clients there correctly if needed, but I appreciate you submitting that to the product team!

Thanks for your help!
