Centralized Signed Contracts in Google Drive

Hello, great to hear there is this community!

My name is Moises Sanabria, and I’m trying out Assembly Pro, and I would love to know:

1. If I’m able to automatically send the signed contracts clients complete
to a specific folder in Google Drive for each client. I saw there is a Google Drive App integration, from reading the Docs, yet I’m uncertain it does what I’m asking.

2. The Google Drive App Integration seems to be a public client folder with no automation or contract signature monitoring, Is that the case?

3. What are the ways that people use Google Drive, if it’s not to centralize and automate their contract storage?

Thank you for the help and support.

Hi @Moises_Sanabria , thank you for reaching out!

If I’m able to automatically send the signed contracts clients complete to a specific folder in Google Drive for each client. I saw there is a Google Drive App integration, from reading the Docs, yet I’m uncertain it does what I’m asking.**

Yes, you would be able to achieve this workflow; however, not within the Google Drive app in and of itself. The app itself is intended to be used to simply embed a public file or folder.

In order to upload signed contracts to your Google Drive, you can use other automation tools such as Make or Zapier.

Here are some resources to help you get started!

The Google Drive App Integration seems to be a public client folder with no automation or contract signature monitoring, Is that the case?

Yes, that is correct. The Google Drive App can be embedded into the portal for your clients to see. However, as stated above, you can create an automation to upload signed contracts to Google Drive.

What are the ways that people use Google Drive, if it’s not to centralize and automate their contract storage?

As mentioned earlier, the Google Drive App itself is not intended to be used other than to share files/ folders with clients. However, with the use of automation tools like Zapier and Make, you can integrate other areas of your workspace with Google Drive.

For example:

  • Upload files to Google Drive when new files are uploaded to Assembly

  • Create folders and files from Google Drive in Assembly company file channels when companies are created in Assembly

  • Upload files to Google Drive when new files are uploaded to Assembly

You can find more examples of different workflows along with instructions on how to set it up on our Assembly Help Guide, here!

To also address your question about the Google Drive app setup, since it’s designed to embed a public file or folder, it’s best used for content you’d like all your clients to easily access, rather than storing private documents like contracts.

As for the specific steps you mentioned, Step 5 gives you the option to show all clients the same embed or display a different one per client. And Step 12’s “content box” refers to the field where you paste the Google Drive iFrame code to embed, not the Contracts page. Hope that clears things up!
