# New Portal Account Creation

I’m still learning the different features of this site but had this question. Does anyone know if there is a way to restrict who can make an account with your portal? Right now anyone can just click the client login button on my site and make an account. I thought they would be required to receive a magic link first but that is not the case. Would appreciate any help

Hi @Ayman_Bahta thanks for asking this question. There is setting to disable direct signup. You can read more about in our [guide here](https://www.copilot.app/guide/client-direct-sign-up#enable-client-direct-sign-up).
With this setting turned off, there will be no sign up option and you will have to create clients for them to be able to login. Hope you found this answer helpful.
